I have been to the fort several times, I like it there. The fort is situated on a hill and has a surrounding park where you can also visit a smaller fort (or base or whatever you may call it) called Gyldenlöwe. The most fascinating attraction in Halden (Halden is a very special, exquisite and spectacular town in Østfold, close to the Swedish/Norwegian border) is Fredriksten castle+museum (called "Fredriksten Festning"). If you are interest in war/weaopn displays, then buy a ticket and go indoor. But if you are interest in outdoor adventure, it's free of charge, just take one of the many... More
