My daughter visited Peles Castle in 2006. After visiting many castles in Austria, Germany and Romania, Peles is the absolute best. We are thrilled that our favorite country in all the world has the most beautiful castle. We hope one day the royal family will return to live in their own country. more

If you're there in November, be warned that Peles is closed for the month for maintenance etc. You can get up to the outside of Peles, nearby Pelisor (the "rival") is open and also very interesting, and the monastery and walks through the snowy woods are worth doing as alternatives. more

Would concur with the reviews regarding Peles castle. In comparison to Bran is is the real deal. Fantastic architecture, elaborte internal decoration and good english speaking tour guides. Some rooms have captured international culture and are tailored accordingly. If you visit one attraction, do this not Bran castle...you wont be sorry!! Peles Castle in Sinaia is probably the greatest memory of sights I've seen in Romania. It is beautifull in every aspect and missing this marvel of a historic site during your Romania trip is an insult to all that Romania has to offer. You don't want to miss this castle. It is amazing. You could live there today. It is the first castle I have toured where you would actually have a lot of todays amenities. I liked this better than Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle). If you go all the way to Romania, and don't visit Peles Castle you will have really missed... more
