Loads of villas around, so the fact that it's so peaceful was surprising. It's about a 20 minute walk to Nerja, so ideal in that it's away from the hustle and bustle and from the noisy night life. A taxi into town only costs €7 and the drivers are very good. Most of them don't speak English, but they understand... More

We rented a villa in Punta Lara, a resedential area just outside of Nerja. Mostly privately owned houses/villas. You need a car as the walk ito town can be a long one. Nearby are two beachside restaurants and a very good restaurant called First (see my review on this restaurant). We liked it very much because of its wonderful views... More

We stayed in Punta Lara in a absolutely gorgeous villa called Casa De Vista. We were wilth my parents who are in their 60s and my two young children under 5. The resort is a good 40 minute hike out of the centre of Nerja and was almost impossible to walk with 2 young children. We hired a taxi to... More

Just got back from a fortnight at Punta Lara where we stayed in a villa hired from owners direct. It was a lovely size and a credit to it's owner. We were led to believe by the advert it was a 10-15 minute walk to town but it took us 45 minutes with our daughter in her pushchair. The main... More

This is a village (urbanisation) we have been visiting for the last 30 years. It still manages to keep it's uniquenes as it was built well before the exploitation of the costas. It is built into the side of a hill and still retains the charm of an Andalucian white village. The main town of Nerja is a good 25/30... More

Just returned from our regular break in Punta Lara, great time as usual. The Urbanisation of Punta Lara has 4 Bars/Restaurants 2 of which have changed hands since our last visit, the Tropicana Bar is still very much a Holiday Club type operation with regular entertainment and themed evenings which appeal to the younger/ family holidaymakers. The Punta Lara Bar... More

Punta Lara is a lovely, very quiet, well maintained urbanisation about 2km outside Nerja. It has a lovely medium sized pool area with good lifeguard supervision, and 3 small bar/ restaurants. When we booked we were told Punta Lara was about a 20 min stroll into the town, but this really doesn't describe it. The urbanisation is built into the... More
