For a "contribution only" admission you can visit this Donkey Sanctuary. Here, committed volunteers work to support endangered donkeys and other creatures of Andalusia. Where else can you hand feed donkeys and get slimed by a hungry pot belly pig all on one visit? Truly a unique experience. Hint: may be difficult to find but well worth it. Check Google... More

The people who run it were so welcoming, and very grateful for our visit, carrots and donation. They are doing a wonderful job. These poor animals must feel as if they have won the lottery living there after the horrible life they have had.

It was possible to feed different sorts of animals (donkeys, pigs and goats) and this feeding experience was available at very good value. The people were helpful and friendly and information was available. It is possible to adopt the animals and recieve information about them. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

Fantastic place to visit, would definitely recommend a visit to anyone who is in the Nerja area. 2 euros for a bucket of food however we always gave them a little more. Enjoyed petting all the donkeys and various other animals including the cute dogs! Will definitely return if we come back to Nerja.

A lovely morning spent here - donkeys horses mules and pot bellied pigs are all here and cared for lovingly by the owners. Adopt a donkey for a year for 20 euros - a lovely memory of your holiday

The Nerja Donkey Sanctuary is filled with loving people and loving animals that are a true joy to spend time with. If this place was close to my home I would go a few times a month and volunteer to help. Our daughter loves donkey’s so we went to visit and get her a t-shirt. They only had kids t-shirts... More

It is a great place, a little sad but that is to be expected. I really enjoyed feeding th donkey's and horses, not too keen on the pigs, it's not their fault that they are ugly. it was lucky that my other half was with me or I would have emptied my purse.
