The museum is surprising for a small outpost away from any metropolitan area. The price is nearly nothing to visit and the ruins themselves are in good shape. We had to avoid active archeological work going on at the sight (seemed like mostly grad students) and a couple of local school groups. Overall a great choice for Roman ruins if... More

This Roman city provides us with the most amazing ruins I have ever been to. Given the site's age, it has been sympathetically restored, where possible, and it is in a fabulous location. The Romans certianly knew where to build: white sandy beaches with a pretty mountain backdrop. The spring flowers were in full bloom and we all felt like... More

Unable to wander the entire site due to ongoing path works, but enjoyed the visit all the same. The museum/visitor centre has a lot of information about the history of the place.

Major building work underway to improve paths and so restricted access when we visited in March 2012. Enjoyed our visit but day ruined as after moving our car to beach car park to have lunch items were removed from the boot. No damage to car so didn't notice until much later in afternoon.

We tried to see visit on a Monday, but it's closed on Monday. Who knew? Still, we managed to walk along the beach and catch a glimpse. They're building a boardwalk that goes right next to some of the ruins. It was still worth it!

The attached museum is an impressive structure the the display is sparse and rather worn. Entry is free with an EU passport.

This really is a must see if you are in the area. It is in the most wonderful setting you can imagine and very well preserved in parts. The museum is extremely well presented and free to enter if you ared European.

Well worth the visit. It's amazing to learn about the Roman settlement right on one of the best beaches ever! The museum has been thoughtfully designed to make the best of the subject and location.

The site is beautiful and so is the beach and the sea. When you have finished viewing the relics you can climb the giant sand dune and have a swim

Spain has done a marvelous job recently of maintaining this archaelogical site at Baelo Claudia. The museum is very modern and impressive and the ruins are easily accessible to walk around.
