It is easy to commune with the past at this atmospheric building. This living history lesson is so rewarding. Again, a lovely environment.

We stumbled across Buckland Abbey and were surprised by how interesting and beautiful it was. The history of Sir Francis Drake was fascinating and the imaginative way that the story of the Abbey was presented was great. The gardens were equally impressive and you could bimble along quite happily taking in the wild flowers or foraging in the kitchen garden.... More

Have been to Buckland Abbey and Gardens several times now. Always keep finding new attractions to look at. Discovered the new Cider House gardens last visit with some wild orchids growing. we have the years membership for National Trust and Buckland Abbey is a favourite of ours and we are there frequently. Plenty to do, staff/volunteers are extremely friendly and welcoming. My children love venturing in the gardens, trails and the Abbey. Plenty for all ages.

A lovely walk through woods full of bluebells on the red walk. The abbey has interesting information about Sir Francis Drake. There is also the biggest barn I have ever seen!

Buckland Abbey has a great atmosphere and a good tale to tell with the Drake Exhibitions. It is in an amazing position and the gardens, barn and house are all very interesting. We are members of the National Trust so gain from free admission but it is well worth paying to go in if you are not.
