we visited the pilot more by chance than design, but were very pleasantly surprised ! the staff were all friendly and the food that was served to us was much better than expected, very tasty with a nice traditional edge to it.The food was quite quickly served but not to the detriment of the quality, quite busy while my wife... My husband and I visited the Pilot Boat twice during our recent weeks stay in nearby Charmouth. The food on both occasions was well cooked and a reasonable price. For location and value for money this pub is well worth a visit.

We enjoyed the bar meals including the sweats. In particular, the fishermans pie is very nice. The 5% real ale was extremely pleasant also as was the draught guinness. Excellent, friendly service from all of the staff. Thoroughly recommended.

Following a 2 hour walk with our dog, we called at the Piolt Boat for lunch and found it very dog friendly. The bar area was cosy and the staff helpful. Although we both only had a simple meal of cod and chips, the food was very good. the cod was fresh and well cooked in a crisp batter. We... More

very poor just does not cover it, we were a group of four, only two of us could eat what was presented. The crab roll costing six quid was served in a stale white bagette with watery crab, yuk. Will avoid a revisit

On arriving in Lyme Regis for a day trip we started to enquire where we should eat. The Pilot Boat was mentioned more than once so we decided to eat there. Although the decor was a little out dated and not very inviting, the meals we chose were superb. The food was plentiful and cooked to perfection. If we had... More

We went for tea one Sunday evening. Staff were friendly! They do not have any sauces for steaks etc - ie - pepper sauce! When we asked at the bar when we ordered the food, the server seemed embarrassed that they could not offer any sauce.... Overall the food was very nice and plenty to choose from. Will visit again.

On our very first trip to Lyme my daughter and I were in need of some food and refreshment after a 7 hour stint in traffic. It was a Saturday evening in April and the Pilot Boat was full to the brim with customers, this was a good sign as far as I was concerned as at this time of... More

We live locally and eat out rather a lot. This is a welcoming pub ( despite it being a Palmers establishment), the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food both on the main menu and the specials board are good and a great choice of puds too. One can alter the menu to suit ones taste which is a bonus.... More
