The climb up to Roraima takes in some spectacular views and many endemic species (favourite: miniature frogs that can't hop), made even more worthwhile by the commitment required to reach them. I saw a previous poster had taken a helicopter up, which is expedient, but misses some of the best environments, including the contrast of the beautiful green jungle area...

Many get there by a week-long hike thru, but we got there and back thanks to Raoul's Helicopters in Santa Elena. Landed on top of the tepui, hiked around thru the bromeliads, flew around the spectacular tepuis, and back in time for breakfast. Very professional operation.
