My son and I dug for crystals here and had a good time. We chose the option where they take you up to the "mine" and you dig for 2 hours. It was really hot but there are nice shady places to sit. Even just sitting and digging in the dirt around me, I found lots of small crystals. I'm... More

Good family fun, everyone was really nice took the tour to the crystal Forrest mine which we believe is just another tailings area, no mine in sight, and everyone really had trouble finding crystal points more than a inch long, cost 15.00 per person even our 3 year old and 6 year old was $15.00 ea.. We called several other... More

My husband and I spent a wonderful day at the tailings area picking up crystals--rarely had to dig, thanks to 2 days of rain prior to our visit. We came home with many crystals in various sizes, and very muddy shoes! There is a nice picnic area where we had lunch that we brought in with us. Everyone who works... More

My wife and I spent a very pleasant afternoon unearthing crystals at the Wegner Mine. We choose to search for crystals in their Trailing’s Dig Area which resembles a plowed farm field. A couple of days before our arrival they experienced a very heavy rainfall and the rain water washed away a lot of the loose top soil exposing the... More

I'd heard about the crystal mines in Mt. Ida, Ark a few years ago, so I made a side trip to Hot Springs this year and visited the Wegner Crystal Mines in Mt. Ida, about 30 miles west on Hwy 70 in October, 2011. They have picnic areas if you want to bring lunch and restrooms are available outside the... More

These folks are only digging dirt from a cow pasture, dumping it in a field and then running over it with a bull dozer. The chances of finding any significant crystal is impossible. This was such a scam. The website boasts like they are the best...NOT! Don't waste your time and money here, if you want to hunt in a... More

The "Tailings Area" is one of several collecting options that we offer to our guests, who - for the most part, have been enjoying it for many, many years. Everyone is welcome and guaranteed to find crystals. If we had known that this visitor was unhappy, we would have done our best to remedy the situation. .. The Tailings Area... More

After spending 3 HOT days at Crater of Diamonds State Park (AR), hopelessly sifting for diamonds, my sister and I drove to Mt. Ida to spend a day at Wegner's Crystal Mines. Finally! Beautiful, sparkling results with every trowelful of soil! I highly recommend the trip to the Diamond Forest Mines. Shade is plentiful, and the rewards are bountiful. Crystals... More

I visited there November 2008, it was a dream come true for me. I used to visit their store in Burbank, California. I promised myself, that one day, I would visit Wegner's Crystal MInes. I stopped by there on the way back to Atlanta. I was there bright and early. Their warehouse is amazing, it contains many crystals of all... More
