if you are planning on going, book the Queen of Diamonds in Murfreesboro AR. about the nicest and closet hotel you will find. I was very comfortable there. Just down the road is a little set up with a sign 'WORLD'S BEST BBQ.' If it isnt, it is close. I was impressed. Ive travelled to Memphis , KC, NC ,... more

Yes, there are diamonds there, but there is a little skill and alot of luck involved. We took the kids, which is rare due their attitude that everything thats not a video game is boring. They actually had a good time, and you can let them roam without worrying they will get hurt or lost. Afterall, it's just a big... more

We actually didn't expect to find a diamond, but it sure would have been nice! The fields needed to be plowed or they needed to rent out jack-hammers instead of garden trowels! LOL! I would suggest a call to the park before going to dig to see if they have plowed the fields - that would certainly help! The ground... more

This was the whole reason we went to Arkansas! They say you have better luck if its raining. We found no diamonds but it was fun digging for them and collecting pretty rocks which you can then have a specialist go through and tell you if you got anything good! They have other things than just diamonds. They have Amethyst... more

1st off, I think if it was prosperous diamond area it wouldn't be open to the public. But owned by a privite company and not turned into a state park open to the public for novelity reasons. You can have your pick of what you wish could have happend or did happen. So yes it would have been nice to... more

If you go here for reasons other than to dig for diamonds you are probably ok, but we went to dig for diamonds and found it to be a waste of time. The ground was pretty much hard packed and there were no diamonds that we or anyone we were around, found. The little ones we saw in the welcome... more

Leaving Ky., we had high hopes of finding a diamond. My friend, Robin, and I were excited about our big adventure. Day one we had it all planned out. We took everything we thought we would need on our adventure, such as chairs, shovels, spades, knee pads, gloves, hammers, hats, towels, our very own home made screen box and food... more

We took our two toddlers and my 75 year old uncle in the heat of the summer to dig for diamonds here. My husband and uncle dug for 6 1/2 hours. It was a lot of fun. My advice - take your own stuff or rent it. We took our own(screens and shovels) and an umbrella, a picnic and an... more

I agree sunscreen is a necessity. Didn't find anything. We did see kids and seniors having fun. We were told it's better to come after it rains, but it was a very dry period when we were there. A little expensive compared to other places we have been. more
