The drive up is majestic. The trails are great. The weather can be incremental with the fog. What's up with that ... Don't they know it's my vacation!?! ;-)

I did this dring the early spring this year. This is a fantastic destination for camping or stay with naturally well maintained trails. Tons of scenic views which are breath taking and good variety of flora around. The park is at its best during fall, spring and summer. Special kudos to the park staff for all the maintenance. The mountain... More

Have been here in spring and most recently the fall. The place is just downright breathtaking. A sense of calm just overcomes you. Definitely a place to wind down and get away from the busy metroplex (DFW area). Don't miss the leaves turning color in the fall. My husband says it rivals the fall color in New England. The lodge... OMG!!!!! For my first visit here I was very impressed. We took a walk along the path around the lodge. Was able to check out a couple of cabins and they were very nice. We drove to Cameron Bluff and the view from there is breath taking. The staff in the lodge were friendly, I will say the rates are... More

Mount Magazine at just under 3000 feet is the highest point in the state of Arkansas. There are lookouts with beautiful vistas of the surrounding countryside and places where hang gliders can launch. There is a beautiful new lodge in the state park with most of the rooms having balconies overlooking the best view. Several cabins as well as a... More

Ranger station, well marked trails, picnic areas with bathrooms; overall, a very well-kept park.

Take your breath away! I was casually scanning information about scenic drives in Arkansas, especially Highway 7, when I came across info on Mount Magazine State Park. Scenic Highway 309, which brings you to the state park, looked beautiful from photos online, and I decided that it needed to be visited by us, even during Winter! The Visitor's Center provides...
