Beautiful rock canyon, with varying layered colors. Very pretty. You can get magical shots with pure blue sky, red rocks and green trees that grow suspended in the canyon. Can be overcrowded. At noon it will be hard to find shade. In some places you can have fun with the echoes. Watch out for the carriages that stroll very fast... More

This is one of the lovliest walks in the world. Not only is there natural beauty along the way, but there are sculptural elements remaining as well, where humans have clearly been. I would recommend walking in during the cooler morning hours. It is roughly 1.5 miles. Enjoy the Treasury, etc. Then, if you choose, ride back through. The appropriate... More

Walking through the towering sandstone gorge with every colour of the rainbow present in the rock face was amazing - it is so narow and then, when it finishes after a mile or so to emerge onto the Treasury is unforgettable

Amazing time was had in Petra. However they say that the horse ride to or from is free ie all you have to pay for is the tip. we were told it should be about £3 hwever when we got on they wanted £10 and bringing them down was frankly embarassing - put a downer on the day really:(

i have visited Petra several times while living and working in Palestine. This is a must. reaching the Khazane at the end of the Siq is a dream come true. If you have 10 destinations in the world this is a bucket list one.

Great start to your visit to Petra, it is truly a natural marvel. Also, the carvings etc give you an early view of the complexity of the ancient society that lived there.

You have 2 options to pass the Siq while visiting Petra. One is to use horses either for ride or carriage run and the second is just to walk. Don't miss the opportunity to walk the Siq at least one way because beleive me it has something to show. Magnificent rocks with beautiful colors will hang over your pathway, remnants... More

It's amazing to see the height of the Siq, makes you feel like an ant going through the narrow canyon. Seeing the treasury come into view at the end is also an amazing sight!

About .5 km in length, easy walking on smooth dirt or paving stones. The sandstone formations on either side were gorgeous, and the tombs and carvings were incredible
