Managed to squeeze in enough time to see the Greek Orthodox Church which now doubles as a museum during some days. It is well preserved and allows pictures a real gem

Information is posted in English and Arabic inside the church telling of the history of the mosaic floors and the baptismal room. It`s a short walk from the main road and worth a visit.

Main attraction to the church is the map on the floor which is surprisingly well preserved. A quick visit should do the trick.

There is a deep similarity between the Treasury and this building. If you are limited on time or are not taking in other Petra components, then I would advocate giving this ordeal a miss. I was frankly disappointed how much extra it added to my understanding on the whole site. However, if you have given yourself enough time for the... More

Heard there are beautiful mosaics but we were locked out of the (covered) church about an hour before closing. Very disappointing.

The floor mosaics are well-maintained/restored. It would have been better if they had set a min-Byzantine museum under the church's restorative cover.

seemingly perfectly carved into a cube, this is well worth the climb up the steps across from the Facades.

Turn right at the very, very old tree before the arena. The roof is easy to spot - looks like a tent roof. The mosaics are beautiful considering they are 100's of years old. If you walk up behind the church a short distance and sit on the rocks(so peaceful and quiet) you will get a panoramic view of Petra and... More

It is the last thing that you hope find there. It is curious but is destroyed.
