This whole village is amazing. It was one of the highlights of my South India trek. A must go and a must see... but don't tell anyone about it so it retains its charm.
I have been dreaming visiting Hampi for yonks. Finally we visited there this year in Jan. It was right in the heart of Pongal. The crowd made it more vibrant. This place is full of surprises. We took a moped and went to a lot of places here and there and really enjoyed the place. This is a must see.
