Confession: Some years ago my wife and I lived in Berkeley just a few blocks from this quiet retreat, and our return visits to the Berkeley Rose Garden tend to be tinged with rosy (sorry about that) memories of a good time in our life. This is a delightful hillside rose garden - a beautiful site for a wedding (with informal seating on the steps) - or simply to enjoy the flowers and the views.

Pick up something in Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto and drive up to the Rose Garden for lovely view and roses during the blooming season.

I grew up in Berkeley. This was always a nearby attraction. Variety of roses phenomenal. Has been reconstructed since I was little, but has kept the magic of the flowers and their unbelievable fragrance. View of SF BAY....and lovely BENCHES for the Elderly and for me. A go see....wanna see place in Berkeley.

At this time of the year I always crave for roses—long stemmed roses from a secret admirer…maybe because summer is soon-to-be gone and fall is beckoning…for what ever reason…I crave to get roses. Since I DON’T have a secret admirer…I got into my touristic mood and paid a visit to the Berkeley Rose Garden to get rid of my craving…... More
