Our favorite place to take family and visitors to the area. Even those with mobility issues can see the falls from the parking area. A short walk down to the base and the kids can put their feet in the water. From that point you can take a short hike (1 mile)around and up over the falls, or head back... More

worth the hike down and back out. I waited years before I finally had time to stop on a trip and go see this falls, It is a lovely spot, be prepared to get in the icy water in the summer, prob feel great for your walk back up the trail to be wet.

A beautiful place to visit. After a long day of training, we decide to go for a small hike. We took the loop path which was just over a mile. The hike was fantastic. Peaceful. Clean facilities.

They views here are unreal if you enjoy tall trees, lakes, rivers, falls. If you didn't bring a boat, then rent one and ask them to point you towards the falls on the opposite side of the lake from the main falls. It's a short walk in to some fairly private falls with a nice pool and plenty of big... More

It is a California State recreational site located approximately 25 mile from where I live now (Mcarthur). It is a spectacular nature lovers spot. Bring your camera. I have camped at the campgrounds several times. Hiking, swimming, and fishing is what I do there. They have a great and very friendly staff who will try to accomodate you to the... More

We made this a quick detour on our way up to Lava Beds National Monument and happily so. It does cost $8 for day use and there is no attendant...sort of. More than likely you'll just be dropping your fee in a box and taking the stub as proof of purchase. I'm sure you could probably avoid not paying the... More

Wow! One of the world's wonders right in our backyard! Not only are the falls beautiful, they are an easy walk. The hike around the falls affords one several wonderful views and different perspectives of this natural wonder. I've hiked it in the dead of summer (carry water and watch out for rattlesnakes) and in the fall and whatever the... More

Tucked away in Northeastern California, Burney Falls is a lovely place. Nearby Lake Britton has good camping and nice water activities.

I may be prejudiced, but I grew up nearby and would ride our bikes here as youths. Always a gorgeous site and campground is nice. If you visit in summer, be sure to spend a day at the nice beach at the lake! Boat launch is also available.
