We were invited to a preview night by a friend who is displaying some of his collection of antique jigsaw puzzles. The place was really nice, with the collection as well as their regular exhibits. There is a really nice diorama of Calistoga from years ago. We learned some about the area's history and really didn't have time to see... More

We were amazed at the wide range of items & depth of this museum, located in the heart of the town. Ben Sharpsteen was a Disney animator during the golden age (Cinderella, Snow White, etc.,) and there is a nice display highlighting his work, including his Oscar. Also, view an incredibly detailed, huge diorama of Calistoga in the 1800's that... More

This museum is full of history. Calistoga is lucky to have this little gym. The displays are fabulous. A must see.

This well done museum was designed by a Disney animator and the murals and dioramas show his artistic talent. There is so much California history that ties in to Calistoga's.. the wagon train pioneers, the gold rush, the railroads, the Chinese, etc. There's a real stage coach and a working model train. It's wonderful for children and there are pull... More

This small museum which only asks for a donation, is worth a visit. There is a lot of very good information, along with very interesting exhibits. On Saturdays beginning in May there is a great Farmer's Market in the parking lot. Certianly worth a visit.

We went to the Sharpsteen after seeing the review above - and loved it! Very quaint and gives you a step by step history of Calistoga (which is surprisingly interesting!). Highly recommend it. People working there were very nice as well.

We stumbled upon this little museum by accident but spent an hour wandering round it. The museum features the history of Calistoga through some fantastic murals. They really have got to be seen to be believed. The staff are very helpful and provide a basic introduction to the area and then leave you to wander around. I would highly recommend... More
