Small village European type atmosphere, park, walk, boutique shops, restaurants, bars over looking the Ocean and a great beach including the wharf, numerous boats moored just off shore during the Summer months...of course the fog might roll in and watch out for the parking police!

Nice beach area and wharf. The water had lots of kelp while we were here and pretty murky and dirty where the waves crash on shore but very scenic. We stayed nearby within walking distance and it was great to watch the paddlers, stand-up boarders, and surfers! We saw seals in pretty close, and whales in the distance.

Capitola is such a charming town and nice little beach. Parking can be problematic as it is only 2 hour parking. If you drop your beach gear off and then park further from the village the walk is not too far and longer parking options.

Beautiful weather this particular weekend. Parking can be challenging.

Entertainment, people watch, walk the beach or stroll the shops. Fun without much effort. Park in city lot by Police station and walk into town.

I don't have a single complaint. The California coast is stunning.

Capitola Beach is not very long, but has a lot going for it. It changes with the seasons. At one end is the pier--walk out and check out the restaurant at the end. On summer weekends there are very good bands playing on the rooftop bar and the crowd is all ages--fun. Also in the summer the sand is soft... More
