I visited this beach last year in august and was blown away. I had been told this beach was a must see and that it was a calm relaxing area. Everyone.was right. The people at this. Beach were a bit older and were not obnoxious like at the beaches in San Diego. The beach was clean and my only complaint... More

I proposed to my wife on this beach nearly 5 years ago and our latest trip to SD she said we should go back there. We had the perfect timing as when we got there it was just time for sunset. The view was spectacular as we watched the sun dip in to the marine layer just over Point Loma.

The Pacific Ocean side is a lot colder. If you want calmer and warmer waters to swim in or just to relax by, the bay side is just right.

This beach is fun for kids to go look for sand dollars and a variety of shells.

Far from the maddening crowd. Take your bike and ride the bike path across the road as well. Kind of a hidden jewel in San Diego.

We liked that it was always easy to find parking hear & it was never so busy that you couldn't find a spot on the sand. You have to be careful that the water isn't polluted since it is so close to Mexico. We had gone at times when we didn't get in the water because of the pollution from... More

The Coronado beach was nice. The sand was clean but the water was COLD even in July. That, of course, didn't stop my kids from running in. You have to get there early before 10am for good parking and to get a good spot. We had a good time and a sandy picnic =). The only problem is that the... More

It felt like you could walk forever. We were there on a sunny day, and the water and sand were literally sparkling! To make it all the better, the bathrooms were quite clean and there was practically noone else at the beach. We will definitely return!

This is "asphalt camping" at it's best! Silver Strand is really nothing more than a parking lot on the beach, but if you are lucky enough to get the front row (at $50.00 a night) you walk out your door and on to the sand. Good luck getting the front row in the summer months! The second and third rows... More
