Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The view was incredible. Kind of a funky off the beaten path place.
Inexpensive. Very quiet at night.

Had a great time at the reservoir. Growing up in the bay area, always driving by it. Finally, my bro and I decided to stop in for a few hours. He took me to his favorite fishing spot (on shore). We spent the next few hours, hiking, laughing and catching up. Soon we heard the announcement that the park was closing for the evening and got our stuff together to leave. Open later in the summertime.

Plenty of places to explore - costs only $7 for a car to get in. You can launch boats and kayaks here. Boat/kayak rentals are scaled down due to covid. It is regularly stocked w/ trout and catfish. They have a store/cafe that has fishing licenses, bait, coffee, some food and hats/sunscreen etc.

There is some wildlife walking/flying around (birds, deer etc.) and pets can only be on the roads and picnic areas (must be on leash). Looking forward to checking this place out again - just a few hours does not cut it. Sunny or cloudy day would be fine. Need to call up bro and see if he is up for it.

If you plan to go boating, be sure you arrive not a minute past 2:45 PM.
We arrived at 2:48 PM and were turned away.
(There was even someone ahead of us "in line" which didn't apparently matter.)
The place might be nice, but we chose to visit another location to do our kayaking and the customer service issue leaves a sour taste. (My wife had phoned earlier in the day and the only feedback we got was that boats needed to be out of the water by 4 PM, nothing was said about having to be there by 2:45 PM, which led to a pointless drive.)

I have fished San Pablo for 30 years. It used to be stocked more often. Do you think stocking more often would increase your business enough tp cover the cost? Traveling to nearby lakes is expensive and fishermen would probably pay more for better results and not having to travel. Don Clausen

We hope to plant between 7,000 and 8,000 lbs for our opener on February 7th. And 1,200 lbs every other week through May. If we can plant more we will. Thank you for your review.

The rates to rent a kayak and other boats here are very reasonable (especially for seniors, who get a 50% discount on weekdays). The facilities are nice and clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. If you just want to paddle, this is a GREAT place to do it! Scenic, quiet and huge, huge, huge. The $7 entrance fee is well worth it!

We rented a pontoon boat for a couple of hours and cruised the reservoir endlessly. If you’re ever looking for a nice way to unwind at the end of a busy month, or a way to top off your summer vacation, this is it!

They have motor boats, kayaks, paddle boats boats and more. And the prices were super reasonable! We will be back!

This is a great lake to fish relax and have some fun. You can have a picnic go for a walk if you have a boat you can launch it , if you do not you can rent one, many size boats are available.

I was pleasantly surprised by the marina and boat rental at San Pablo reservoir. You can buy fishing supplies here and rent boats all the way up to big patio boats and enjoy a quick 'lake boating getaway' without really having to travel.

Kennedy Grove at the foot of San Pablo Dam has a large lawn area with bbq-ready picnic areas, and has several relatively short hiking trails leading out into the hills, some of which take you quickly up several hundred feet in elevation. The reservoir, which is basically a small lake, has fishing and launches for light watercraft.

During my last two visits I had the great opportunity to catch my limit of trout, and the nest trip I was lucky enough to catch a 6lb trout. This is not my only big trout from San Pablo, my largest was a 11lb trout a couple of years ago. The place offers numerous things to do, and things to rent for the hour and the day. Fun place to spent the day.
