I went to glass beach at least 20 years ago when the glass was abundant. We went there last week and the glass was sparce. Lots of people were taking the remaining glass home with them. I do think the tide was pretty high, so maybe if you go during low tide it would be better? The beach, rock formations... more

Maybe we went there at a bad time or maybe I just had my expectations set too high, but I was pretty disappointed by glass beach. The pics I'd seen made it look like the glass was abundant, obvious and beautiful. What we saw was a regular old beach with the occasional tiny pieces of glass. Could have something to... more

I first visited here in 1982. We moved here in 1986 - not much had changed from my first visit. Glass Beach historically, is a place of interest to all who come here. To the glass collector, it's fascinating in that some unusual colors can be found. To the photographer, it presents many and varied challenges and opportunities for some... more

The most interesting thing about "Glass Beach" is the fact that the people of this town thought it was a good idea to dump their trash in the ocean - I mean, who does THAT? Apparently they did this until the 1970's. Human beings never cease to amaze.........but I digress. There are no treasures here. Its a cute little bit... more

Not Impressed. The tide pools were OK, but not much glass left on the beach after all these years. I'd skip it and find better tide pools elsewhere. more

When I heard of Glass Beach, I expected the sand to be speckled with multi-colored bits of glass everywhere - something really different than the norm. That wasn't the case here, but it is still a worthwhile visit. The ocean views, tide pools and the occasional bits of glass, iron and other strange items make this an interesting stop. more

When we go to the Mendocino Coast we always take a trip to Glass Beach. The beach is amazing with all the sea glass and little treasures you can find. The tide pools are plentiful and the the ocean views from the walking trails are fabulous. more

Last year while looking through the Jan/Feb. issue of "Costal Living " I found Glass Beach @ fort Braggs Ca. We actually planned a trip up the coast and drop all the way to Yahats OR. We flew into SFO from MCI and drove up costal hwy #1. I have always loved the ocean. The colors, smells and sounds are... more
