Watch the whales from the point, the river otters from the river bank, the pelicans and seagulls from everywhere. Build (or add to) a driftwood "house" on the beach while the waves pound on the shore. Great hiking trails and good facilities - nice visitor center with interpretive displays.

We hike here a couple of times a week. You can walk through meadows to the beach which is huge and then walk forever. The birds flock in large gatherings which is fun to watch and photograph.

Excellent views, shorebirds, right at the mouth of the Gualala River. This day use and camping facility is clean, open all year, camp host, make reservations online. If a Regional Park can be so well run, why can't the State of California keep its parks open? We love it here and do not mind paying $6 a day to use... More

During a visit to Sea Ranch and Gualala we took a few hours to explore Gualala Point Regional Park. Easy find and easy parking. We stopped by the information hut/house/cabin and discussed fox sightings and other critters with the folx there. The trails to the ocean are easy peasy so no worries there. Once you reach the beach you have... More

This was a little difficult to find; the campground is located on the east of Highway 1 (and marked well) but the actual coastal walk/hike is located on the west (not marked well) but once you see the Sea Ranch golf course, you're really close. The walk is beautiful and expands down seven beach acesses. Its really quite gorgeous to... More

A little jewel on the North Coast. Unlike a lot of campgrounds with Redwood trees, you get good light during the day. It is still chilly until the afternoon, so bring warm clothes. Still, it feels good after the valley heat. We burnt a lot of campfires. Small campground, only 19 sites, so it does not appear hectic. Sites are... More

Spent a couple of hours walking around the Gualala Point Regional Park. The entrance fee, at an iron ranger, is $6/car $1/pedestrian. It appears possible to park on the east side of Hwy 1, at the entrance to the campground, and walk in to avoid at least the $6 fee. The trails are through a mixture of tall grass meadows... More
