This was our first stop on the Russian River road.. The staff was very helpful with the wine and other suggestion on near by places to visit. Loved the oil, mustard and chocolate tasting too. The ground are a great photo opp.... more
My boyfriend and I just returned from an amazing tour of Sonoma and the beautiful wineries along the Russian River, and Hop Kiln was by far our favorite spot. We visited over 12 wineries during our week long stay in Sonoma, and Hop Kiln was easily our least favorite winery. Poor service and mediocre wines. There are so many wonderful wineries in the area that are happy to give you a friendly positive experience. This place isn't one of them. more
We visited Hop Kiln winery while exploring the Russian River Valley area. The Hop Kiln building is the best thing going for it; old building, lot of history. I'm not a wine drinker, however, I enjoyed this particular winery. It was over 100 years old. They still have a list for free wine tastings. According to my husband, that wine was pretty good as well. It also had tastings for oils and mustards. more
This is a very good place for a picnic stop. They have a nice selection of gourmet goodies to buy and eat on their patio. The tasting room is something to behold.
