It's one of the major highlights in Pingyao as it is a very nice and well decorated temple, with very well crafted statues across the complex and a place where you can escape from the many tourists and relax. Located inside the old walled city of Pingyao, it is one of the high points of the visit. Nice sculptures in the garden outside the temple. Signs in English and Chinese.
A class AAAA tourist attraction in China's rating scheme, this temple is well worth a lengthy visit. The complex is surprisingly large and can be entered from the North (gate across from the City God Temple) or from the main South gate. Inside lies a labyrinth of buildings and courtyards containing sculpture, scroll works, paintings and temples.
