We took our two children to La Jolla Cove in July 2009. It was their first time snorkeling. The water was a bit chilly, but they were very excited to see the fish and hopefully a leopard shark. All areas of the water are easy to enter for beginners. They were able to see bright orange fish so quickly after... more

The tide pools are beautiful. I love that you can mix and mingle on the beach and park with people from all over the world. I think it's great that shore scuba diving is allowed here (and must remember that for our next trip!). Afternoon at La Jolla Cove is a must for any San Diego trip. I'm so glad... more

La Jolla Cove is absolutely gorgeous. It's a small pocket of beach surrounded by these beautiful cliffs. The water is crystal clear with stunning shades of blue and aqua. There are pelicans and sea birds everywhere. There is also a sea cave you can go through and see seals that often hang out on the rock cliffs through the cave.... more

I had the opportunity to swim two days in early Oct 2008 at the La Jolla Cove. There is a 100 yard wide swimming channel that leads out from the beach towards Scripps Pier (about 2 miles away.) There is a bouy at 1/4 mile out, and 1/2 mile out (there may be one past that spot, but I turned... more

I'm getting into bod surfing now. The beaches in La Jolla are awesome. Try Marine Street, and just to the left of La Jolla Cove. more

Our family loved our short visit to the Cove, even though the temps were in the 50's. Gorgeous views and interesting rock formations, tide pools and people watching. Arrived by 8:30am for parking--watched swimmers and snorkelers brave the cold water while we explored. more

La Jolla cove is my favorite beach. Go at low tide and visit the tide pools. Here you can see lobster, crabs, seals, sea lions, pelicans and much more. At low tide at the Children's Pool you can walk into the tide pools, surrounded by little fish. You can find whole seashells by the dozen. This is a great place for a family picnic, or... more

My husband and I love to snorkel on all our vacations to the coasts. On a quick trip to San Diego this past weekend we found a snorkeling tour brochure for Seastar Adventures. We had a great guided tour of the bay and were able to see the under water life near La Jolla. We went to a protected bay... more

Spent a day in La Jolla with my boyfriend during our trip to San Diego. It was definitely the best, most romantic part of our trip. The scenery is breathtaking! We spent quite some time watching the seals on a long pier/walkway that jets over the area where they hang out. We climbed on the rocks. We ate at the... more
