It was our last day in LA and we thought we would try someting different. Easy parking and no crowds so we off to a good start. The facility was well laid out and a joy to wander round. The discoveries found in these tar pits are truly amazing - so many bones, how do they make sense of it...

Beyond the obvious paleontological deposits in the Tar pits. More interesting was the history of Rancho La Brea. It was a ranch owned by Hispanic Family after the theft of the territory known today as the "Southwest" by the United States. Most Mexican, Spanish, Indian peoples were systematically disposed of their land. Anglo-Saxons would arbitrarily take their land, accuse people...
