This is obviously a tourist trap, but several of the stores are worth a look, and we love Bubba Gumps! Many of the stores and restaurants are right on the ocean, many of the sweatshirts are reasonably priced. If you are visiting Monterey for the first time, Cannery Row is a must!

Reminded me of all of the touristy places in other cities. To get to the aquarium you need to park in this part of town but I wouldn't spend any other time over here.....

It's a nice little walk with lots of shops and cafes along the way. I'd recommend stopping for a sweet treat at Nestle Toll House. They have wonderful ice cream and pastries!! ;)
