Beautiful setting. For some reason Palo Alto Baylands is more popular locally, but Shoreline Park has more species more concentrated. The irrigated, parkland pulls many additional species that aren't found in the salt ponds and more natural marshes of the area.
Really nice to walk or run around the lake. In summer, try some paddle boating to cool off when its really hot, or enjoy a picnic... Nice spot to go chill or ride a bike along the bluff as well.
Do you want to throw a frisbee? Fly a kite? Go paddle boating or sailing? Picnic near a lake? And grab a coffee to watch the sunset? Then the Shoreline park is place to go!

Rent a water craft or launch your own. Sit in the waterside cafe or hike, skate, run, bike along the many trails. Take the kids to the boat-shaped and...

Who doesn't love Shoreline for so many reasons: good for biking, good for picnic or good for renting a boat. It is simply a nice place to spend with the kids or friends. Always kept clean and the people who visit are very friendly. Plus its so close (biking distance) to Palo Alto and Mt View !
Great for jogging or walking but not much by way of a playground for kids.
My son took windsurfing and sailing lessons here over the summer. While he enjoyed all that excitement, I took in the sites and ate at the Lakeside cafe every day. The park is so beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed taking walks around and seeing all the wildlife. I can't believe how many Canadian geese there were and yet the park...
