Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I love the poker and card games here. The games have great action, the people are friendly, the place is clean and safe, and the food is good. Five stars.

I have been playing poker for over 50 years and the California Grand is the best casino. I cannot think of one complaint. They get rated the best casino in the Bay area every year.

From the packed parking lot you'd think this was a hot commodity. They are basically here to take your money... I definitely would not bring my family or kid here...stroller friendly? Really? Its a gambling place... and not even a good one!

The poker games have really good action. The dealers are much faster than Vegas and the promotions are way better. The staff is quick to answer any questions; food service and food quality are good. Great poker room. The blackjack, baccarat and pai gow games are also well run and easy to play.

This card house has a nice decor. It not huge so tables are packed in a little tight but not too bad. All of the popular card games are played here like blackjack, 3 card poker, Texas Hold'em, and Paigow. Lots of parking and there's even valet parking as a choice.

I believe food is available and there's a bar if you just want to have a drink. I'm not in this area very often. But if so, I'd have no objections to coming back here again and trying my luck.

I am a frequent visitor here, to play Texas Hold-Em. Many tables available, from limit games to no-limit games. My biggest compliment is how well run this place is. From the dealers to the floor managers, very impressive. As far as their rules, I for one, very much appreciate their control in this area. Playing poker while on your cell is annoying to me...I don't get that. Also, I have never, ever, been limited to one drink per hour, as mentioned by another reviewer. If you like orderliness, a well run card room, then this is the place. Also, no cussing or outward display of anger is allowed at the tables.. Thanks for that.

From the billboard advertising you would think this is a much larger casino. It is basically a small poker room. They only offer a few table games. The staff is very nice and friendly. There is a $2 lunch menu they offer players until 2pm.

I have played poker in many different casinos and I have never seen a card room with so many rules. The most shocking rule I observed is that they will only serve players one alcoholic beverage per hour. The servers know down to the minute when you can order your next drink. The player next to me tried to get an exception and was flatly refused by both the server and the floor man. They also have a strict cell phone policy. A man at my table received a phone call. He was leaning back from the table talking on the phone and a floor man immediately approached him and told him to hang up the phone.

Other than all the rules it is a nice, clean place to play poker. I would not go out of my way to play there, but if you are in the neighborhood it is a good spot to play cards.

We visited this casino after seeing a billboard and having a couple hours to kill so we decided to visit and play some blackjack (which they don't have). They have poker and 'Hot Action Blackjack' I walked around the casino for a minute looking for a regular blackjack table (which I realized they didn't have) so I decided to stand by the Hot Action Blackjack table to see what it was, after watching one game a man walked up to me and asked me for my ID which I showed to him (I am in my 20s so I am used to being IDed at places) this this man was very rude, my license is not from California so it was strange to him, and I could tell he was not sure it was fake, he rudely asked me to come to the front desk where they looked in a book to make sure it was real (which is normal) but then the man behind the counter took a scan of my ID without asking me or telling me what he was doing, this was the last straw, once he fave me my ID back we left and will never return. If you are young and want to feel that you are Guilty until Proven innocent I recommend this place, but otherwise go somewhere else.
