Good trout fishing early season. close to Idyllwild. Beautiful pair of bald eagles seen fishing the lake .

Needs better access and a good restaurant.....not much to do when you get there

We came up here in the early afternoon hoping to rent a boat and do some fishing. We were able to rent a boat without any problem. The staff was helpful. The scenery was beautiful. Took Hwy 74 home from Palm Springs and stopped here for a rest. It was midweek and there was hardly a soul in sight. It was in the low 70's and the leaves were turning. What a beautiful, relaxing roadside rest.

We visited on a Sunday, bought food from the little super market at the entrance , paid there a 5 dollar fee and entered , not through the camp site, but through the picnic area. the place is good for fishing, for a picnic you can find wooden tables and grills.
