Go to hear the organs and to see the beautiful stained glass. Historic and a perfect setting.
Unlike most California churches (think of the Crystal Cathedral) and more functional mega-churches (often converted warehouses), this classic is filled with stained glass windows, a grand organ, wooden pews, and marble floors. Stanford uses it to serve the entire religious campus community (including Jewish students), but it is still preeminently a church. Very different look for this part of the...

The interior has a great mural of many religions different founders, which emphasizes it as a non-denominational place of worship, even if it is called a church.
I recommend you take in a concert here if possible. It is so beautiful at night with music echoing.
Right here, close to where you live, is a spectacular massive church like you would see in Britain or Europe. It rivals everything I have ever seen in my travels. There are fabulous mosiacs, paintings, breathtaking stained glass windows, pipe organs, etc. It' is a MUST SEE if you are anywhere near San Jose, or San Francisco. You can even...

This is a gorgeous church that will inspire you to be religious, even if you are not normally. Beautiful stained glass windows, huge pipe organ at the back. If you can manage to see a service at the church, you can hear the amazing acoutics of the place. Definitely a must see if you are in the area.
As if the Stanford campus isn't beautiful enough, this church will knock your socks off!
We so enjoy events here. We make a point to hear Chanticleer every Christmas season. What a special way to spend an evening.
The best mosaics this side of the Atlantic! Stanford campus has beautiful outdoor art and is worth a visit all on its own, but if you see one Church in all of America it should be this Church. The glittering gold Mosaics will dazzle you, the walk past the Rodin sculptures and through the cobblestone quad on your way there...

If you visit Stanford & don't visit the church, you're missing out. I've been to churches in Europe that wowed me...
