Pretty much a run-of-the-mill tourist trap. Shops food vendors, etc.

I like eating and browsing in Old Sacramento. The Railroad Museum is at one end so you can see both in one stop. We had lunch, then browsed a few shops.

This old town area has been nicely restored and has a good variety of shops. Situated along the river and the railway you can see how the town would have looked (minus the speciality shops of course). They have boards up telling you about the history and it's a great place to wander around. My 21 year old godson who... More

I just love Old Sacramento. There are so many little shops and places to eat. There's a sunglasses/purse place that has awesome and cheap sunglasses. There's also a pretty large store that you can buy old records at. There are several stores with little knick-knacks and cool items. If you ever go to Sacramento, you should check it out (if... More

One of the most authentic and best restored old towns we have seen. Situated beside the Sacramento River, 28 acres have been designated a National Historic Landmark District and State Historic Park. In 1848 when the California Gold Rush began, the town grew virtually overnight. The busy trading center for miners became the City of Sacramento. While convenient for travel... More

I love going to Old Sacramento ... we have been there numerous times. There are many good places to eat, and lots and lots of shopping.

We went there for New Year's Eve. Nice people and wonderful views of the river. Love the Delta King in the summertime.

Unless you want Chinese-made souvenirs and fattening foods, skip this downtown attraction. There are much more attractive places to visit and see (like the state capital or the adjoining gardens. Sadly, this area has seen much better times.

If you want to step back in time and visit a bit of the Old West, come to Old Sacramento. The board sidewalks make for interesting walking. Some of the streets are cobblestone. There is a working railroad as well as an interesting railroad museum. There are great restaurants, some right on the water. You can watch boats motor or... More
