This place has their artwork arranged so beautifully. It is not a huge museum (but, they ARE expanding their space next door). It is only 4% of the art that the Crocker family has to display and the paintings rotate every few months, according to a docent. Admission is free on Sundays from 10am-1pm. A great art museum in the original Crocker Mansion, with many different forms of art from the Crocker collection to modern. A very interesting place, although we found the salon style of hanging art work, like the Crockers did, a bit frustrating to enjoy since it is from floor to ceiling making it difficult to appreciate some of the art... more

I have been to the Crocker Art museum quite a few times, living in Sacramento. The building itself is fun to see, its an old one. The pictures inside are both modern and classical. It is definately worth a stop if you like art and you have the time. If you go on Sunday, i believe its free. more
