Last year I saw Hitchcock's The Birds here. Tippy Hedron was there to introduce the film & give some background. The surroundings are very classic. We could have been watching the film in it's 1st production, the preservation of the theatre is good (& is improving). Light rail lets you off right outside of the theatre. Crest theatre is a shadow of its formal beauty. At dark the neighborhood gets creepy. Crest is a little run down, however, lately, I have seen some improvement. Looks...more happy? In any case the Crest theatre usually plays non-mainstream movies. I took a show there once, and had no problems, so if you are in the area, check it out.... more
