Peaceful area to walk around and see all the different trees of California. Rose garden and memorials are good. I'd combine with a visit with the State Capitol and Museum.
This park has trees from around the world that were planted more than 100 years ago, it makes for a nice stroll.
Took a nice stroll in the Capitol grounds. Roses were in full bloom. I'd rate the park 5 stars if they had better restrooms and if the pathways were more orderly.
Loved this park. Wonderful roses, palm trees and plenty of statues and other points of interest to explore. One of the nicest parks we've visited.
Nothing finer than to enjoy the offerings of an outdoor experience such as nature in the middel of it all! The Capital Park has all the trees, flowers and memorials to behold and enjoy! What a great place to walk , sit and take it all in!
This park has a great view of the Capitol and has paths that lead to the rose garden, as well as several memorial sculptures, including the Vietnam War Memorial to those who were from California and a replica of the Liberty Bell. Several hundred species of trees are also planted. It's a great place to spend some time when you're... More
Walkable garden, lots of great trees and flowers, with view of statehouse. Right downtown. Lots of shady spots to avoid the heat
Stand quietly in the cactus garden at the south east end of Capitol Park. Soon, you will see the hummingbirds zipping around busily. Notice that the squirrels in the east half of the park are larger and fluffier than the "clan" on the west end! Search out the east side's rose garden. In the Spring, enjoy the Camellia forest on... This small park surrounding the California state capitol building is amazing. It contains numerous exhibits, but I especially like the fact that there are about one hundred different type of trees on the grounds and they are mature. An easy afternoons jaunt with many surprises.
Delightful park, interesting trees from afar, touching Vietnam war Memorial, Other memorial scultures etc, and in shadow of the grand capitol building, of course. Tour of Capitol also of interest, self or guided.Great little dining or drinking estab around. maybe run into known politicos.
