Having wanted to come here for ages, we called up the same morning and got a lunch reservation. The place was fairly full, but we were seated in a nice table and quickly brought bread and water. The leadership of the restaurant is professional, but student chefs assist and run most of the stations. We began by each having a... more

We thought it would be fun to bring our 9 year old here for lunch during a trip to Napa since she could watch the chefs prepare our lunch. What a huge mistake. Where do I begin? The place was not very crowded at 12:30 pm, which should have been our first clue. Prices were very expensive for the quality... more

Expensive, menu was all fish, service was pathetic.. I wouldn't even recommend this place on someone elses corp card.. Waitress wouldn't tell us what was on the appetizer tasting menu.."chef surprise" as we paid for our $100 lunch, another waiter gladly stated what was in the app tasting menu.. dont waste your time, $ , or gas to the restaraunt... more

I was there about 10 years ago, on a business trip, with senior managers picking up the tab. I was thrilled with the service and food. I got the definite impression that the cost of this place was seriously out of my league if I was going to paying out of my own pocket. more

Our group was excited to sample the Culinary Institute's food and ambience. Unfortunately, the staff was rude, arrogant, and lacked any concept of customer service. As soon as our party was seated, our waiter offered to bring out "a few bottles of wine." We decided to wait on the wine and order with our appetizers or meal. The restuarant staff's... more

My husband and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary someplace special and made reservations for the CIA, and provided the required $50 deposit to secure our reservation. We arrived a few minutes early and were escorted to the waiting area. When my husband sat in the leather chair, he very quickly realized that he sat in something wet. The hostess... more

We arrived a bit early for our 8pm dinner and were seated in the pleasant waiting area. The hostess came to collect us right in time. Our table was in the back of the restaurant, in front of one of the open kitchens. We enjoyed watching the chefs. The sourdough-type bread and the olives brought out while we waited for... more

Our visit started off badly, with a rude and unfriendly bartender. Table service was very slow, and unattentive. Ordered an expensive bottle of white wine and we were brought wine glasses fresh out of the dishwasher that were so hot you could hardly touch them. When we mentioned to the waiter that we'd like wine glasses that were chilled, or... more

My husband and I decided to try the restaurant at the Culinary Institute for lunch. We had no trouble being seated rigt away. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is lovely with views of the open kitchen. There is only one menu for lunch and dinner so it was a little more and a little pricier than I would have liked... more

I was hoping the CI at Greystone would be the same wonderful experience we had in New York a few years ago. Unfortunately I cannot say it was. We had added another person (number 6) to our party and waited an hour+ to be seated despite our reservation. The service was slow, slow, slow. The food was good, not great... more
