The Thursday night Farmers Market is a wonderful experience that should become a destination in itself. A superb selection of local produce at reasonable prices, local food, live music, along with dozens of shops make for an unforgettable evening. If you're passing through or staying the night in SLO, you simply must go and enjoy this inexpensive delight. more

in the heart of san luis, streets closed from 6 - 9 pm on thurs, 5 bands, country ,rock, mime, ..... and stores on the street are open with great deals/offerings too. don't miss it! more

We were on our way to San Simeon (hearst castle), and we stopped into San Luis Obispo to get gas. I saw streets blocked off, i heard live blues, I smelled BBQ, and I saw lots of people walking into the closed-off streets. we ended up staying there: it was a really fun time, with plenty to choose from foodwise.... more
