Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We didn't have any food, but the beers are great and the outdoor area is nice. Will go back next time we visit our son at Cal Poly..

3.5 stars rounding up to 4 because the manager was super helpful when something went wrong.
First, the beer is quite delicious. I love that they have three different sizes (4 oz if you just want to try it, 10 oz if you just want a glass and 16 oz), priced between $3 and $6.
We went for beers once around 5pm and for beers & dinner another time. Parking was tough around happy hour but better after 6pm.
The beer was great but the food was meh. There are very few vegetarian options (salmon doesn't count - that pescatarian) - basically brussels sprout tacos with chili sauce (ick) or some basic salads. I got the Mediterranean salad; they'd run out of chickpeas (the only protein in the salad) but served it anyway. The manager handled it well, which we really appreciated, but overall we weren't that impressed with the menu options or the actual food.
So go for a happy hour beer, then go elsewhere for dinner.

Although I haven't tasted all the craft brews in SLO, I have sampled most, and CCB has the best craft brew around. Always my go-to, Monterey Street Pale Ale delivers every time. For those who prefer a lager or pilsner, the Cervantez amber lager and the General Schwarz Black Lager are both consistently good beers. The Terrifico Mexican Lager is also good, especially on those hot late summer/autumn days in SLO town. If you prefer something with a stronger ABV, the choices rotate more frequently than those listed above, so you'll have to do your own sampling. Since CCB has a good brand name, they usually have a rotating collaboration going with another brewer outside the local area. At this posting, the Mercenary IPA (6.8%) has a nice finish to it. As for the overt/covert quaffing, the Monterey Street location is a smaller, laid back spot where the locals gather. There is no food service at this location, but for tourists walking to Farmers' Market, you can stop by for a beer before hitting the crowd. If you want to be seen or dos people-watching or for a bite to eat, stop by the Higuera Street location. That location usually has a larger selection of beers and some ciders also.

Typically all brewpubs offer the chance to purchase a sampler for those who want a taste before finally selecting a pint, but what if you actually like multiple beers drinking multiple pints in one sitting might have an affect. Here they offered the option to get 4oz beers for $3 which would allow for those who want to have multiple beer types.
They have a very large selection here and the typical fruit beer flavors I like to drink in the summer.
Also, they had a nice menu to order from for those who wanted a meal and beer

My wife and I stopped by for a couple of beers and had a pizza. What a wonderful location. The place was well decorated and the Micro Brews were fantastic. Stop by you won't regret it!

Really liked the Hefe and the New England double IPA. Really small tasting room on the north end of Monterey street. Small bar, a few indoor hightop tables. Some more seating outside on the patio. The location is not the best, but the beer is really good. Nice service, very knowledgeable about beer.

My wife and I went to the brewery on Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo for lunch. It is new and pretty, but several items on the luncheon menu were not available because they did not have their supplies to match the menu--sliders were not available, humus plate, etc. The service was very average as well. The beer was good and there was plenty of inside seating when we were there. I enjoy going to local breweries, but this one had some problems that I have not experienced at other breweries.

Hi Don, Thanks for the review! I have to personally apologize for the menu and service problems you encountered on your visit. We are still getting all of the logistics worked out of our new kitchen and staffing. We have been brewing beer for 20 years but only just now are part of the restaurant industry. I hope in the very near future that all of our food is as World Class as our beers. Cheers!

Central Coast Brewing Company has long had some of the best local beers in town. Now they have a large second location at 6 Higuera Street in SLO. Fantastic beers on tap, food, loads of seating, fire pit on the patio and games. Great service and family friendly!

Repurposed building is now an amazing pub with outdoor, dog friendly seating and pub grub

Staff is welcoming and knows their brews.

Hubby had a pizza-he said it was good, but part of the bottom was black. I had the pulled pork sliders-very tasty, but two of the sliders were also slightly blackened. Kitchen needs more help, training or experience.

Busy place for a Wed. night and everyone was having fun. Oh, there is a small arcade in the back and the toilets were immaculate.

Been here a few times. They make excellent, quality NW and CA style IPAs from light and citrusy to hop heavy and piney. The place is weird and cramped though with only a few tall wobbly little tables that seen like they're about to tip over. Outside isn't much better with a cold, sterile counter top and mismatched chairs that are way too low and also seem ready to break or tip over...and not from drinking too much beer! It's really weird and uncomfortable. I don't know who did the planning, but they need some help. Lol. Go for the beer though. It's really good!!
