I took my family there and just 1 tour cost me over $70. The tour lasted about 40 min. Was very short and we didnt see much. You must stop and see because the best part of the castle is the pools which you do not need a tour for anyway

The Good: We enjoyed most of our visit. We watched the film before taking the tour. It was very informative. Our daughter and her husband took the Cottages and Kitchen tour. They loved it. The Bad: We took the Great Rooms tour. Unfortunately most of the people on the tour were non-english speaking. Our tour guide would say something then... More

We took the evening tour. This was the second time we had taken the tour. The docents were not as interactife as the first tour. The lack of interaction made the tour less enjoyable than the first time.

Had no idea what to expect at this place and I was blown away! Absolutely worth the trip - otherworldly. Unfortunately, the price is steep at $25 and you only get to see a few rooms. However, everything was blooming when we were there and it was worth it. And don't miss the elephant seals on the way!

Holiday time is the best when the castle is decorated as it would have been when Mr. Hearst was in residence. Take more than one tour if you don't think you'll make it back this way again anytime soon. Be sure to note the beautiful gardens!

Pick a hill by the ocean, build a castle, play tennis and go swimming. Wonderful tour at Hearst Castle. A must see on of HWY1. Tip: fill your tank at Cambria if you come from south like us.

What a great place to go. There is so much to see and this year they opened up the grounds so you are able to walk around on your own. There is no time limits that you have to follow. We only did the main floor tour but saw a lot.

We took the evening tour, very interesting and entertaining. The guide was very good and the players in period dress added to the experience. Would highly recommend the tour.

Such a gorgeous place. This is our 2nd. time visiting the castle. Really enjoyed this year's tour as you can spend as much time as you like roaming around the outside gardens & pool area after you have completed the tour with the tour guide. You just catch the next available bus going back down to the visitor's centre when... More

a very well organised attraction, we did the grand room tour, must say bit disappointed with the inside of the house as it was dark and drab the tour took in only 5 rooms, but it was so worth the price to see the pools and gardens. the scent of roses was abundant in the gardens.
