The views are breathtaking, the restaurants and shops mostly kitschy tourist traps. Do try the Vino Prima wine bar and Olita's restaurant, though. Stagnaro's at the end of the wharf for a cup of clam chowder is a good bet, too. Listen to the seals bark, look for whales, watch the surfers and the folks on the rollercoaster at the... More

The wharf gave us a nice evening stroll with sealions to watch both swimming around and hauled out resting. We were able to get very close to some on a boat landing. We enjoyed ices and salt-water taffy at Marini's.

Typical tourist place with plenty of shops and restaurants on the pier. Nice place for a stroll and a bite to eat. Strawberries in chocolate not to be missed.

A number of overpriced shops and restaurants... It's what I would expect of a beach town with a lot of tourist traffic. The service at the various establishments was more pleasant than what I've experienced at places like this, though.

Lovely walk out on the wharf. Surprised to find cheap beer at the end of the pier. No dogs allowed.

We have been vacationing in Santa Cruz for several years. One thing our grand kids love to do is to walk to the end of the wharf where the sea lions like to hang out. We always enjoy watching them. There are also restaurants and shops that are fun to visit.

We went to take pictures and listen to the seals. It can really be a magical place, even with all the people and the distractions you can still somehow feel like you are visiting someplace magical.
