Best hikes - Los Liones is my fave. All of them are gorgeous. You can't go wrong.
There are so many amazing trails and places to see. You really feel like you're away from the city even though you can be right in the middle of it. Most of the trails are dog friendly as well.
The Pier, along with Santa Monica as a whole is overrated and expensive. There are far nicer places to visit in California than here so don't go out of your way to visit!!
You can hike here in nearly pristine mountain surroundings, on good trails with views to distant horizons, surrounded by sights of local flora and fauna. You have to go there and be there to really appreciated how breathtaking it can be!
