Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely fabulous rafting trip! Steve was amazing as our guide and he took us through amazing rapids with skill, enthusiasm and humour. I had 3 kids with me and he made us all feel safe and in great hands. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience!

Conquering these IV+ rapids AND staying in the boat were the highlights of our trip; not to mention the incredible river and surrounding trees. Stella, our guide, is small but mighty, steering us over each technical section, clearly executing commands over the loud rapids. We enjoyed a bountiful spread at lunch (fresh fruit, veggies, sandwich fixings) and then continued on, battling more rapids before ending with a float to our takeout spot. Safety and all things related to it were communicated clearly without instilling fear. This was our first time that wetsuits and splash jackets were required and we are grateful for them as the water was chilly! Due to the extreme weather this past winter, the usual put in and takeout routes were not accessible, thus resulting in a hike down to the put in area (about forty-five minutes ) and an hour and a half pull-by-a-small boat to our bus. We highly recommend this trip and company-professional, friendly with a deep respect for the river.

I had originally booked the California Salmon which we could not raft, due to the High Water. Wonderful Beth in the Office of All Outdoors offered me the Kaweah or the Merced instead. I booked both, and I do not regret it! What a fun and exciting river!
It starts with a put in, I have never seen before: in the middle of Whitewater, with not time for a paddle practice. You are right in! And it just continues that way, “Rapid fire excitement”, indeed! Still, we were in good hands with our guide Trey. He made this day of extremely high water rafting both fun and safe.
It was a fun group of people who did not make me fell old (I was much older than most of them) but we quickly became a fun team on this exciting trip.
I wish I lived closer, so I could do this more often!

We had an amazing trip on the Tuolumne. Our guide Garrett was patient, professional, smart, and fun. He made the trip feel safe - exciting rather than scary. We were a group of retired educators and he immediately gave us the confidence we needed to have a wonderful experience. And the food was wornderful - the guides put a lot of love and hard work into creating great food in a primitive setting. We are grateful for all that was done to make this trip memorable, safe, and FUN. Thanks!

We did the cherry creek petition of this.
I’ve done white water rafting a dozen times, and this was the most intense and therefore the most exhilarating and fun.
They provided breakfast and lunch, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They are the most skilled guides in the white water biz in my opinion.
Dealing with this company, everyone was very professional. If you’re down for an intense white water rafting trip, don’t bother looking anywhere else

Excellent experience on the Tuolumne! The one day was perfect for my family. 18 miles of class 4 rapids with one class 5. This was our first time rafting and it was amazing!! Our guide Jack was super knowledgeable and patient while teaching us. It was the highlight of our trip.
None of us went overboard (Jack was close) unless to cool off when Jack deemed the water safe. Since it was August and 100 degrees outside, the cool water was rather refreshing. Jack did a good job of letting us know when it was safe to go for a swim. It was super fun to ride the rapids outside of the boat as well.
The lunch was great. Hit the spot.
We saw 2 bald eagles, and an eagle nest.
Would definitely recommend this company!!

I've been rafting for 50 years. For the past 20, at least, my California Trips have been with All Outdoors. I'm sure there are other great companies out there, but I have never had any less than a superb experience with A.O. Rafting.
This was about my 9th trip on the Middle Fork but my first 2-day trip. It's a great mix of big rapids and a long stretch of tranquility with time to enjoy the river. On the two-day trips, they offer a chance to share an inflatable kayak with another rafter. Rafting in the IK offers a closer experience with the river. Since the IK section has no rapids over class 2, there is little danger in paddling your own boat. The 2-day trips also allow time for hikes, swims, and a cliff jump if you wish. I also love spending a night under the stars with the sounds from the moving river. The dinner and breakfast served on the 2-day trip were exceptional.

Absolutely amazing experience! Would thoroughly recommend! Michael was a brilliant and experienced guide who helped us to navigate the river (which looked impossible at times!). It was as a thrilling experience but both the guides and company were very reassuring on safety.

Great fun with very competent rafting guide (Roan). Fun rapids deep in high walled golden hilled canyons. Even saw eagles fly by. Limited number of rafts on the river.

Which of the trips did you take, mentioned in this review? Around what time did you get back to your car aka how long was the trip?
We are interested in the Class III-IV 1-day trips, too. Thanks!

Is it better to rent a tent or bring your own for the 2 day trip?
