I believe the Avenue of the Giants may be my favorite vacation spot. Being surrounded by so much majestic beauty, such magnificent trees, and so many shades of green (watch out for the poison oak though -- it's green in May), I think my blood pressure has never been lower. Many trails to hike (easy-grades), lots of signage to let... More

The size & age & beauty of these forests just takes your breath away. The park is huge, we spent 2 days hiking & driving & biking. A nicely marked auto tour. Don't miss the Founder's Grove & Drury-Cheney Trails. Awesome. It had been years since we have hiked around in the park, and it is even more breathtaking that... More

Enjoy the incomparable beauty of Humboldt County. After walking among the sacred groves drive to Arcata, a funky college town. They have great music, shops and food. we enjoyed the swedish coffee house where you can rent a clean hottub under the trees or a sauna. If you are there on a Sat. go to the town square farmer's market... More

If you have never been to the redwoods, visit these. A wonderful journey down the Avenue of the Giants with colorful locals and interesting, sometimes amusing tourist stops. A rare treasure on the United States.

Feels like the center of the Universe inside these old-growth groves, and takes you to the grove with one of the world's tallest trees.

The park highlights some of the tallest trees in the world. Loved just being there and feeling the ancient world dignified by these lovely giants. If you are near, go by- they're constantly under threat of destruction.

We've traveled to several state and national parks and we were impressed with the Humboldt S.P. Huge trees with very easy access. We traveled with our 9 month old and the developed trails and shorter, easy hikes (walks) made the trip enjoyable for the whole fam. Highly recommend.

We got off Highway 101 at Myers Flat and hopped on the Avenue of the Giants byway. What a beautiful drive through the magestic trees. We couldn't stop pulling over to take pictures throughout the drive. Beautiful hikes on loop trails at the north end of the Park on Founders Loop and Rockefeller Grove trails. Both are short loops with... More
