A group of 20 something folks paying $18.95 a head trooped single file 1000 feet into a dark, dank and wet 150 year old mine tunnel. Our "foreman"/ guide treated us as if we were the miners. We donned well-worn hard hats and discovered that being a gold miner was the worst job ever. The temperature in that mine was... more

We were looking for something to do and saw that this was near where we were staying. We weren't expecting much, but were pleasantly and extremely surprised by the wonderful tour we got. Our tour guide was FANTASTIC! He had an awesome voice (kinda like Johnny Cash) and was a GREAT storyteller. We fed the miniature donkeys and went down... more

Went here on a rainy day in Breckenridge. We learned alot and had an interesting tour of a real gold mine. Came with kids 16, 14 and 8 and everyone enjoyed it. Hard to find, though...no signs on the road. We were driving on a paved road which turned into a dirt road full of home construction, weren't sure we... more

I visited with a 6 year old and the tour was very enjoyable. It lasts about 45 minutes. Our guide (Austin?) was very entertaining and friendly. He took pictures near the mid point of the tour with your own cameras (no need to buy pictures). Panning for gold was also fun if not a tad difficult for young children. more

We loved touring the Gold Mine! We ranged in ages from 72 to 4 and everyone loved it. Wear shoes that will keep your feet dry and warm. The mine is 50 degrees year round. More importantly, go to the bathroom before arriving. The restrooms are absolutley the worst I have ever seen, EVER! They are basically a hole in... more

We were looking for a quick afternoon outing while visiting Breckenridge, Colorado. We came across The Country Boy Mine Tour. Even though it sounded cheesy thought we would give it a try. We were happily surprised. Tour of the actual gold mine was fun and informative. You actually go back into the mine several 100 feet. Guide talks about a... more

Looking for something to do in between skiing runs? This is a great place to visit while in Breckenridge. Our family really enjoyed it. There is an approximately 1 hour guided tour of an actual gold mine. Our guide was very friendly and informative. Our kids (ages 10, 6, and 5) loved it. After the tour of the mine, we... more

The Country Boy Gold Mine tour was one of the most fun days we spent during our trip to Breckenridge. You are guided into an old Gold mine for a tour that last about 45 minutes. The mine itself is surprisingly comfortable. It's warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and you won't have to do any stooping... more

We toured the Country Boy Gold Mine on August 11, 2007. Tours are on the hour every hour and run approximately 45 minutes long. Tickets cost $18 for adults, $13 for children 4-12, under 3 is free. You can buy tickets at the store located onsite. The tour starts at the mine entrance. The guide explained a little bit of... more
