Bring lots of film for this train ride!! The 3 seat side has most of the views, but the 2 seat side was still great. The history and stories along the way were a nice touch. Don't forget to have the donuts at the top, and definitely bring a sweatshirt or jacket so you will be able to walk around... more

As flatlanders from West Texas our trip to Pike's Peak was an awesome adventure. We came in October not realizing that the summit would be closed. We were not able to reach the summit but it was still an incredible drive up for our family of five and we don't regret it at all. It is a must on the... more

My husband and I decided to drive up to the summit versus using the Cog railway. It was too pricey and we wanted to go at our own pace. The brochure says it takes about 2 hours to get to the summit, that is if you stop at every scenic point. Parts of the roadway are not paved and you... more

The view from the top of Pike's Peak is a panoramic phenomenon. Do not miss the chance to go to the top. Bring your camera and spend some time. I've only been there in the summertime. I'd like to see it in all seasons. You can take the cog railway, hike or drive to the top. I've only taken the... more

I took the Cog train today. It's a nice ride, but next time I'll take the highway again. We weren't given much time at the summit (maybe 30 mins) - barely enough time to use the restrooms, eat a quick bite (which we brought along from the cog depot cafe for $9 - cheaper than the summit cafe), and take... more

The views from the top of Pike's Peak are tremendous, and I'd recommend using the Cog Railway to get to the top. I would have liked the option of staying longer at the top and taking the next train down, but your seats are assigned on you ticket so you can't. Not a cheap ride but I love trains so... more

The cog railway was a bit expensive for our taste (~$100) and we wanted to ascend at our own pace. For a fraction of the cost(~$20), we decided to drive up. The road is about 38 miles round trip. There are parts close to the edge but the road is plenty wide and unless you have a true fear of... more

Pikes Peak is another one of those places I can now check off of my list as "been there." "Done that." There are only three ways to the top. Walk, ride the train (cog railway), or drive. I did number four. Rode my motorcycle to the top. Not for the novice rider. Roadway is dirt the last six or seven... more

The trip down Pikes by bike is great. Only one company to use Challenge Unlimited. The company has poor customer service and very rude employees but they have the only permits to alow this trip. The guides( if you want to call them that) are kids with a "WOW MAN LIKE RADICAL" attitude...who think riding a bike is some sort... more
