This zoo is not huge, but is so clean and the animal areas are very large and nice. The new grizzly bear exhibit literally puts you within a couple of feet of the bears. I thought the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo rivaled our Fort Worth Zoo in many ways. The exhibits were much better. The animals sure seemed happy. Especially the hippos and giraffes. FYI: They offer a AAA discount. When you first walk in, you pass by the giraffes and can purchase giraffe crackers to feed them, it's really cool! The best thing about the zoo is the view. Part of the zoo was under construction when we were there, but there was no indication of what exhibits had moved or the detours that you needed to take to get there, and pushing strollers up and down the mountain to get where you needed to be was very frustrating.
