I'm no zoo expert, but this one seems to have at least as much animal variety and number of exhibits as other zoos I've visited. We enjoyed it more than the Denver Zoo; the layout is conducive to leisurely strolling and the location is picturesque, with no city traffic noises or other distractions. My small son really enjoyed feeding the... more

My boyfriend and I visited the zoo in June of 2009. We are both in our late 20's. The cost was around $13, but there are $2 off coupons everywhere online (I printed one off and it worked fine) or in travel guides, etc. Overall, we thought the zoo was great. The giraffe feeding cannot be beat. We spent close... more

I had visited this zoo as a child and really liked it. Now going back some 20 years later, I was really disappointed. Most of what we saw were statues of animals in every cage, but no real ones. I do think it is worth the $13 admission fee to be able to feed the giraffes. That part is totally... more

Well worth the visit just to feed the giraffes. Crackers for the giraffes are just $1 for a few. Easily walkable and full of so many different types of species, ranging from grizzly bears to zebras to lions to hippos. Great for children and adults too. Takes about 2.5 hours to see everything and was definitely less crowded on a... more

We recently visited the Cheyenne Moutain Zoo. It had some great things going for it such as the view and how it was built on the mountain. The bear and gorrila exhibits were pretty neat too. However, some of the animals especially the elephants cage was horrible! There was only dirt for them. No grasses, plants, or trees. There cage... more

My family and I visited this Zoo for the first time and must say we loved it! I came to this site before going and read a few of the negative reviews and as a result expected a bad experience, however, I must say it was great, exciting and kept my attention the entire time. The giraffes were quite impressive... more

This zoo may be smaller than some zoos, but the location on the side of the mountain is very relaxing and there are some great views of Colorado Springs. There are some great exhibits now, too. The African Rift Valley where you can feed the giraffes is right in the front and definitely the highlight of the zoo. Spend the... more

The zoo offers one of the best views of the city. That's the nicest thing I can say about it. We paid to ride the tram (or at least, they SAID there was a tram!) In the three hours we walked up mountainous pathways, we saw one tram. Needless to say, this little tram was full to capacity! We went... more

This zoo is not huge, but is so clean and the animal areas are very large and nice. The new grizzly bear exhibit literally puts you within a couple of feet of the bears. The budgie buddies exhibit is not to be missed, my kids loved it! And don't forget to do the Mountaineer sky ride while you are there.... more
