Easy to loose members of your group and watch out for the speeding snowboarders
As a avid skier and boarder, this is by far my favorite everyday resort in Colorado. This is the place where the tourists are not everywhere, and the terrain is much tougher. A blue here equals a black at keystone, Breck, etc. very good bowls and back country...we get the copper pass every year. If you're experienced and want to...

Copper Mountain is the best ski resort in Summit County. Great terrain, surrounded by magnificent mountains and hiking trails. Across the freeway, hike up the Gore Range Trail to Wheeler Lakes. http://www.amazon.com/Greatest-Hikes-Central-Colorado-ebook/dp/B003ZUY8NM
Nice variety of slopes and good planning to have blacks to the left and greens to the right. Nice relief from so much over charging at other resorts. Altitude is high enough to still have snow in early March in spite of this year's lack of snow (although back bowls were not good).
This may be dated a bit, but I spent an entire winter skiing at Copper Mountain while working at Christy Sports at the base. I skied nearly every other resort within 100 miles and never found terrain that was as varied as Copper, and tree skiing that was as challanging and fun. I see a few reviews as "terrible" from...

Unlike some other nearby resorts, skiing downhill will, for the most part, always lead you back to within a mile of where you started your day, so I'd imaging it would be great for families who want to let the...

I loved skiing at this resort with my family this past winter. Great long wide runs. Groomed nicely. Snow conditions were good considering it was not a good year with much snow fall at all. It is not a really large resort but plenty to ski in a day. We actually went 3 days. The most wonderful thing I liked...

We loved the long runs. Open outdoor fire pit area was an awesome place to warm up after a few hours on the hill. Props to Copper Mountain on offering military discounts on their day passes.
This was our firs trip to CM and certainly won't be our last. The resort is a quick jaunt from the Denver airport and well worth the drive. The village is new and while small certainly is sufficient. Additionally, the people are all very nice and friendly. The resort certainly lacks the pretensions that can be seen at other larger...
