Very scenic and fun. It was like going back in time to the old west. Some may not like the heights in a couple spots but I highly recommend it. Please keep it clean!

A lot to see, but we recommend a four wheel drive and plenty of time

If you're going to travel from Cripple Creek to Canon City, and you have a car with good ground clearance, this is the road to take. There are 2 other ways to get between these 2 cities, and this one is my favorite of the 3. But again, you better have the right vehicle, and timing is important too; you'd... More

As I drove along, and made a few stops along the creek side pull outs, and just stopped to take in the view, I realized that you jsut don't get to see our country this way anymore. Make sure you drive a four wheel drive vehicle, and aren't afraid of heights.

Definitely one of the highlights of our Colorado trip. :) We loved the thrill of the one-lane cliffside roads, but not dangerous at all. It takes a while (about an hour), but TOTALLY worth the time! Little "ghost camps" on the side of the road some places, most consisting of a post with the name of the camp. We saw... More

You are SO hanging off the edge of the mountain on this road! It is not for the faint of heart. You will see beautiful scenery and, if you are lucky, Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep (look near Window Rock towards the north end of the route). Best to take this road that goes between Cripple Creek and Canon City... More

From pavement to pavement, it really isn't very far. I usually do this stretch in under 30 minutes.

This road goes from Garden Park, Colorado to Cripple Creek, Colorado. I have driven this road about 5 times and every time I get scared. It is a one lane high way with a very steep drop one one side and traffic goes both ways. Please be careful when you drive on this road. Don't drive to fast because there... More
