Security is more tight than boarding an airplane. While the security people and tour guide were courteous and friendly enough, the tour itself takes at most a half hour and is not all that informative. It's okay for doing something different; but no need to make a special trip to take this tour. more

My husband and I did this tour last week while visiting Denver. We reserved the 10:00am tour and ended up with an elementary school class. They were well-behaved though. Otherwise, there were maybe 6 other adults on the tour. The tour itself lasted only 45 minutes, but it was free, which is good :o) It was quite interesting. No cameras,... more

You need to make reservations about at least 2 weeks in advance to get in here. Then, you need to show up 15 minutes earlier than your reservations or they'll put someone else in your place. The entire tour lasts about 30 minutes and they rush you from room to room and there's not enough time to really look at... more

This free tour is very popular and sells out regularly. We are by no means coin collectors, but still found this tour very interesting. Learning the history of how coins have been made and what new coins will be coming out in the future was interesting. There are several antique machines, displays about heists, etc. which is fun for everyone.... more

The tour itself- not so hot. The trouble was mainly our guide. She told everyone to hold their questions for the end of the way too short tour. Then, she couldn't answer any of the questions anyhow. Along the way, we walked past a plethora of interesting antique equipment. None of this equipment was addressed at all in the tour,... more

--Why is your reservation no good after 15 minutes prior to tour start? Because of standbys who got there 20 minutes prior to tour start. --So, if you don't have a reservation that you made weeks and weeks before, can you get in? Yes! The above two points are linked. First, try to make an online reservation, and THEN GET... more

We fortunately were able to get reservations a little over a month ago for a tour at the Mint. We had a few last-minute people in our group, but most who had reserved spots were there and on time. Like another poster stated, you NEED to be there at least 15 minutes before tour time. They quickly ushered us into... more

The Denver Mint does give FREE tours, however, you must make reservations. I made my reservations online about a month before we went. It was me , my husband and 2 daughters ages 11 and 8. The tour is about 45 minutes long but they recommend that you arrive 15 minutes prior to start time and bring your confirmation sheet... more

When you go to the US Mint website to make a reservation, you soon notice that they are booked way ahead of time because they take reservations without payment or any other sort of real commitment. Nevertheless, I managed to squeeze into the last remaining spot and happily headed downtown. I arrived maybe 5 minutes beforehand and was rudely told... more

We have gone to Denver for the last three years for visiting family and vacation. Every year we have tried to get tour reservations. We have not been successsful. So finally I called and spoke to a person who said she was in charge of tours. She informed me that the information to get reservations I had was incorrect and... more
