The aquarium was a wonderful afternoon adventure. The place is clean - I don't know how they keep the acrylic tanks so clear and smudge-free. The aquarists were well informed. I especially liked the young lady who feed the sharks. She was quite knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this to anyone! more
I actually found this place more interesting than the botanical gardens. The place is not huge. Parking is $6. There's a deal that if you go after 6PM, you get free parking and $3 off price of admission. Consider that eating might not be worth it because your bill can easily reach $40 for 2 people. The fish tanks that... more
We had a wonderful time at the aquarium. We participated in the Swim with the Fish Program. We were treated so well by the people from A-1 Scuba! The program includes snorkeling with colorful fish and eels; floating eye level to a beautiful sea turtle; all needed equipment, admission to the aquarium; a t-shirt; informational guides; and coupons for the... more
Hi, As a teacher, although the Aquarium was a little expensive, I thought it was great. There were many species of fishand the tanks were large and easy to view. There were volunteers who allowed you to touch starfish and other animals. I enjoyed the jelly fish. It was air conditioned and clean. I do not understand the negative reviews.... more
I have never understood the attraction of this place. It's okay but nothing very exciting. It's also way overpriced for what it is. We were done in an hour. Plus you have to walk through the gift shop at the end in order to exit the place. Try doing this with a bunch of little kids and your wallet is... more
First off, please read the more recent reviews to get what the Downtown Aquarium is really like. It used to be called Ocean Journey, but there was a complete remodel a while ago, and the aquarium is much better now. The prices are a little high, but worth it. The exhibits are interesting with lots of fact plaques all over... more
We have taken our Grandson here twice, the first time we ate at the inhouse resturant, Laundry's...umm one word..YUCK! We were SO ready for fresh wonderful seafood and got frozen, greasy, and pre-made! Such a let down- the resturant had a great wrap around tank which was cool, but the food ...not even edible! The next time we went my... more
This place is overpriced for what it is offering. The most interesting thing in this place was the room with the pair of tigers in it, but I hardly expected to find that in an aquarium. Save your money and don't go here. more
Go on a Sunday when they first open at 10 a.m.! This is the best time of the week to avoid crowds, and you can park on the street and not pay for parking. Bring your own stroller if you have small children, or pay $6 for a stroller that seats two preschool children comfortably. The fish aquariums were awesome,... more
